Beyoncé in Best Shape Ever Thanks to Vegan Meals!

The always fabulous Beyoncé has been looking even more stunning than usual lately, despite having gained 60 pounds during her recent pregnancy. Her personal trainer Marco Borges recently revealed to Life and Style Magazine how he helped her get back into shape.

From the magazine: “Consistency is the key to success,” her trainer shares. “I love running-spring intervals for quick cardio sessions and also…running stairs.” And that’s exactly what he did with the “Single Ladies” singer. As for nutrition? He recommended at least “one vegan meal a day because this typically gets people to eat more greens than they normally would.”

While there are plenty more reason to eat vegan other than just weight loss, we applaud the effort to cut out meat & dairy in exchange for healthier plant-based meals, and if Beyoncé is any proof, it’s safe to say that going vegan even part time is a step in the right direction. 1. Sorry, not going to celebrate her. Glad she’s healthy. Maybe when she ditches the fur and other skins.

  6. My husband and I (both in our 60′s)started a plant-based diet last October (2012). I am down about twenty pounds, which delights me. I don’t feel in the least bit deprived of food, as I am not trying to “cut calories”. My husband has lost a comparable number of pounds. What we are both interested in finding out is how this has affected our cholesterol levels and A1c numbers. We see our doctors in April and will find out. Hopefully, I will be down a few more pounds at that time, too. Our blood pressures are excellent, measured on our home monitor. It is never too late to start a healthy life style!

When I went vegetarian I gained about 10lbs, but being vegan I can eat whatever I want and maintain a constant weight. It’s the perfect way to have it all!

No, not at all. I’ve been vegetarian for 27 years, and vegan for two. I struggle with my weight constantly. I haven’t lost a single pound since going vegan 2 years ago.

I lost 20 pound when I went from “mostly vegetarian” to vegan. I’ve lost another 15 by fine-tuning my diet. The key is being PLANT-based and not eating vegan junk food. Eat lots of veggies & fruit & whole grains. Go easy on the fatty foods (nuts & seeds, avocados) and use minimal oil. Avoid anything WHITE, like rice, flour sugar.

  15. I really wish people would stop writing incorrect articles like this. Beyonce did not lose weight from a plant-based diet. She lost weight through vigorous exercise. I’m sick of celebrities getting pats on the back for essentially doing nothing.

Her trainer “recommended at least “one vegan meal a day because this typically gets people to eat more greens than they normally would.” Seriously? One vegan meal a day deserves praise? And, it was just a recommendation. Even a serious hardcore meat-eater would be considered lame if they were trying to lose weight but insisted on having animal products at every single meal.

People do not understand what veganism is. It is not one meal, or one snack once in a while that’s not loaded with animal products. It is a way of life that respects ALL animals, ALL the time and avoids exploiting, killing and eating them.

Beyonce should be shunned publicly for her continued use of ugly, dead fur, when there are plenty of alternatives out there. It just proves she’s ugly inside.

I don’t care if someone wants to eat meat, but for goodness’ sake, don’t call it vegan if they don’t eat meat every once in a while.

I wish! I went from vegetarian to vegan, only because of my food allergies. Never lost an ounce changing to either. I actually gained going from meat eater to vegetarian; and my weight hasn’t changed since.

  20. Laura Marie says:

I was vegetarian for 5 or 6 years before becoming vegan for the last year. My daughter accused me of being a “Grey Vegetarian” which basically means that i ate lots of processed veggie foods but not alot of fresh vegetables and fruits. That really made me think. When i stopped eating all the dairy and cheese about a year ago, i dropped 50 lbs in a 6 month period. I now try to get out and exersize a few times a week. I rollerskate, walk 5 miles, take my dogs for a stroll in the woods, nothing very strenuous just get my body moving! Also choose whole, home cooked foods over processed crap anyday. I also brew Kombucha and make homemade saurkraut, they are natural probiotics that flush out fat. Im 43 and feel very healthy, good luck to everyone. As a society we have been bombarded with commercials and food pyramids…its very hard to change your ideas about something so personal as food. Educate yourself, I found Veganism through researching health issues and stayed firm with my decision when i learned about the plight of farm animals, our planets health and the lifestyle of nonviolence. :)

Yes a vegetarian/vegan diet has helped me lose weight. I havn’t eaten meat in over 4 year and when I started I weighed 192 and my lowest weight is 165. Keeping this diet can be tough at times because I’m in the military but I have managed not to sway from my decisions no matter how much my shipmates pressure me. I love being vegan!!!
